Smart phones are the most popular tool used for voice searches. However, consumers with smart speakers use voice searches more often. According to BrightLocal’s Voice Search for Local Business Study 2018, more than fifty eight percent of consumers used voice search to find local businesses. Forty eight percent of these consumers used voice search on a daily basis. Twenty eight percent used the search about once a week.
In the past twelve months, it seems that the younger generation ages 18 to 34 used voice search the most to find information on local businesses. Next consumer age range to use voice search ran from 35 to 54 years of age. Lastly, consumers ages 55+ performed voice searches within the past year.
